(Kingston, Jamaica) After 5 weeks on accepting and processing mix tape entries from selectors and sound systems from all across the island, the highly anticipated Boom 45 Fullyloaded Face-Off has finally kick off last weekend with the top 20 entrants doing battle for a chance at winning over 1 million in cash and prizes.
Club Impulse in New Kingston was the place to be last Friday July 1st and Saturday July 2nd as Round One of the competition will get underway hosting 10 selectors / sound systems each night and from there based on what the special celebrity guest judges decide coupled with the crowd response 6 will advance to the next round.
Round Two which will commence this week Friday July 8th and Saturday July 9th respectful is expected to be a massive showdown as the advancing 12 selectors / sounds systems will be tested in their musical knowledge of 70-90’s dancehall, remix abilities and of course the favored tune for tune clash which will again be judged by invited celebrity guests.
At the end of round two four will get a shot at stardom and head to the finals at the 15th staging of Fullyloaded set to go down on Sunday July 24th at the Palisadoes Go-Kart Track in Kingston. Amongst the long list of prizes the champion selector / sound system will receive includes a Fullyloaded Trophy, $300,000 cash, 1 Blackberry Torch, 5 Dub Plates from top local and international artists as well as 1 Caribbean Show date.
Admission to see all the excitement go down inside Club Impulse will be $500 and patrons will also be treated to music from other the hottest party selectors and sounds.
Dubbed “The biggest baddest beach party / stage show” Fullyloaded will this year be titled sponsored by Boom Energy Drink and LIME.
A production of Solid Agency in association with the Star Newspaper the Boom 45 Fullyloaded Face-Off was created to give upcoming selectors / disc jocks and sound systems a platform to showcase their skills and learn more about the music industry.
