Christmas, a busy season for artistes

For deejay Tifa she has her family traditions to end her year with a bang as she said, “we have a tradition of having a big Christmas cookout on the lawn, filled with food, drinks, liquor, music and games. It’s a time of fun, excitement and love. We all catch up on things we’ve missed and what is to come in the future as we give God thanks for another year bringing our family and friends together.”

D'Angel

Tifa, who had a very successful year, said fans can expect a lot more for 2011. She said, “more songs definitely, I’ll be singing more, album in the making, and more, just watch and listen.”

For singer Raine Seville and deejay Bugle who welcomed their first child, a daughter earlier this year, it’ll be both family time and work for the couple. Raine told THE WEEKEND STAR, “well Bugle will be away in Antigua for a show, and I’ll be spending Christmas doing some family time with my mom, sister and daughter and giving back by donating some things to the Maxfield Park home.”

For next year, Raine says she’s ready to get back in action and work on her career as she said, “people can look out for a fresh, new image, a more mature Raine and I plan to diversify my music and aiming for more appearances, performances and hot videos.”

Having Dinner

As someone who loves to cook, D’Angel will be doing just that. After cooking on Christmas Day, she said she will be having dinner with her family. “Every year, that’s what I do. After I finish dinner I will be heading to Raga’s Mix Up and Blenda and then GT Taylor’s Extravaganza. Boxing Day I have Teen Splash. My fans have much to expect ’cause I plan to shell down every show,” she said.

Jah Cure

For many artistes however the holiday season will be about work. Konshens said he is “gonna spend Christmas day travelling and Christmas night ‘shelling down’ Guyana’s National Stadium with Jah Cure and Ashanti.”

Kevin from the group Voicemail said they will be doing mainly corporate events. “Voicemail will be doing work and in between that some family time,” he told THE WEEKEND STAR.

This year, deejay Stacious says she plans to have a very relaxed holiday. She said she will be doing mainly children’s treats, staff parties and Jagra GT Taylor’s Christmas Reggae Extravaganza at Independence Park in Black River, St Elizabeth, on Christmas Day.

But she will also be finding time for those special to her.”Basically, find time to put in people that you don’t normally have time for throughout the year,” she said. The season also has more significance to her, as she will celebrate her birthday on December 28.

“Mi more worry bout wah mi a go do fi mi birthday,” she said laughing.
