The concert which forms one of the primary elements of the celebrated three-day agricultural festival will cater to patrons seeking uplifting Christian enjoyment. The concert will feature artistes including: the energetic Goddy Goddy, the inspirational Carlene Davis, the engaging Omari, Dr. Norris Weir, Jabez, Septimus, Kereen Gregory, On The Shout Band and the Melodies.

Organizers of the prestigious concert, Glory Music, say worshipers can expect a well-produced event full of family enjoyment, at this the 59th staging of the Denbigh Agricultural and Industrial Show.

Tommy Cowan, head of Glory Music says the company started presenting gospel music at Denbigh in 1997 when Alan Rickards, the (then) chairman of the Jamaica Agricultural Society asked him to do several productions which included an oldies show, a youth program and a gospel evening which was dubbed ‘Gospel at Sunset’.Then in 1999, ‘Gospel At Sunset’ gave way to ‘Gospel Train’.

“During those years we realized that the attendance needed improvement, so we continuously sought ways in which we could improve it; as a result, in 2000 we completely revamped the programme and also renamed it, Denbigh Gospel Extravaganza,” says Cowan.

Then in 2003 Hi-Pro, Hi-Pro Foods, Ace Supercentre and Best Dressed Chicken went on board as the main sponsors of the concert.

“Jamaica Broilers, manufacturers of the Best Dressed Chicken and other great food items, believes in supporting family-oriented events. Their involvement in the Best Dressed Fun In The Son is testament to this. Since joining forces with them, they have made an invaluable contribution to the process,” says Cowan.

The concert will be hosted by the lovely Alysia Moulton-White and will begin at 5:30 pm. During this time, those in attendance will still be able to purchase delicious food and beautiful craft items from the various stalls present at the agricultural show.
