In a release sent to THE STAR commenting on the partnership with the ‘Destination Series’, Digicel head of marketing, Donovan White, noted that the company’s support of the event was a natural fit.
White expressed: “Since our launch in Jamaica, Digicel has been first to market with many products and services, so partnering to host the world’s first 3-D cinematic party in Jamaica is a continuation of that tradition. Additionally, hosting this party at the start of the new year certainly represents a new era in Jamaica’s entertainment industry – taking entertainment to a whole new level. We are delighted to be on board with this groundbreaking initiative.”

Destination Series lead promoter Kirk Hamilton expressed the belief that the theme of the party, ‘Destination Moon 3-D’, would thrill hundreds of partygoers, as the lush grounds of the Hope Botanical Gardens would be transformed into a futuristic oasis playground on the moon. Hamilton said, “Most party events in the Caribbean can’t boast a world’s first – whether minor or major. We are extremely excited, because it is not every day you get the chance to experience such a bold and innovative concept, and therefore we will deliver an amazing entertainment experience to our patrons.”
Hamilton also noted that at the party everyone would be given a pair of 3-D glasses on entry and would be able to interact with 3-D content on large projector screens throughout the party with specially designed lighting effects.
Patrons wishing to ring in the New Year in fine style will also have the option to reserve a private cabana – ‘The Apollo’, which will offer personal waiting service and premium bottle service. Hamilton finished by encouraging everyone to “celebrate the end of a decade and the dawn of a new era with an event that is truly epic”.
