House of Reggae awaits new Venue

After four (4) great years at the current location (1693-A St-Denis, downtown Montreal), Canada’s only 7 days/week live reggae show-bar will be ending its business activities (at this location) on the Monday, 27th of June, 2011. The current Lease at this location has officially ended this past March; although after numerous negotiations to renew it, the landlord has fully declined its renewal due to the fact that her own Bar (Pub Ste-Ciboire) underneath, claims that the little House of Reggae is posing way too much competition for her own bar, which is 4 times bigger and has been there for over a decade.

“We no longer wish to rent the second floor of our building to a BAR per say, because its stealing our clients from our own bar-business. We want to rent it out to a coffee shop or a simple restaurant, as long as its not another bar”; those were the last words of the building owner towards the House of Reggae.

Currently, the House of Reggae management is looking for a new location; please keep checking out our website at www.houseofreggae.com for updates and if you want us to come to your area/city, please let us know at [email protected]

The House of Reggae staff would like to thank all our clients and supporters for these past 4 years and hope to see you all soon at a new location!

In the meantime, come and enjoy the last 2 weeks at the House of Reggae, open every day from 3pm-3am (except Mondays)…please check our website schedule for shows.
