The vivacious songstress who is not limited to just reggae, dancehall or soca is determined to make her mark in the music industry. While bringing her versatility and charm to the table, she believes that the time has come for her to showcase her talent to the music world.
Since the release of her debut single entitled ‘Bubbler’, produced by Tenament Yard Records, Real Steele has been getting major airplays and reviews from both the local and international music scene. The single has also turn heads with its lyrical content.
Born to parents Emeline Crawford and Astley Smith, Stephannie Abbygale Smith, who is monikered as Real Steele hails from St.Thomas ,Jamaica. While growing up life was not an easy road as many would say, however Real Steele conquered the worse. She attended the Yallahs High School, where she was involved in athletics and various school activities .Soon after, she went on to do Electrical Installation at the H.E.A.R.T vocational school.
In all this, she then realized that her passion was to entertain people.In 2003, she started singing on various sound systems and then she was encouraged by friends to write her own songs. Soon after, the vibrant and enthusiastic songstress started visiting a few studios in Kingston in order to get her break. In 2006 she did her first recording for Emerald Records with songs entitled ‘Too Much War’ and ‘I’m Still Gonna Love You’ .Like many young artistes, some of Real Steele recordings were supported by the Cave Man Studios.
In the same year she performed on a few stage shows such as: Summer Hype, Mischief and Star Jam. The resolute singer despite her detractors still continues to move forward with her music career. In2010, she met up with Tenament Yard Records where she recorded the song entitled ‘Bubbler’ and ‘Touch Me’ .In the same year, she met up with artiste manager Leslie Gray of Heel and Bread Productions in New York, who was pleased with her vocals and is now managing the artiste music career. Other recordings done by Real Steele include, ‘The Hurt’, ‘Finger Finger’– collaboration with Iyah Lion and Britney Star, ‘Missing You’ and ‘Bad Gal’.
