The concert presented by Ghetto Youths International in association with LIME will be in observation of the 67th anniversary of the birth of their father, Bob.

“We are extremely honoured to be able to pay tribute to a man who is an enduring icon associated with our beloved country and so we believe this is the most fitting way to celebrate his life and bring the community together in a positive way” says Stephen Price, Head of Marketing.

“In celebration of our 50th anniversary as an independent nation and of course in observation of Reggae Month, this is an excellent opportunity for us all to celebrate our proud legacy as Jamaicans” he added.

LIME will also be broadcasting the event live on LIME mobile TV.

“The partnership with LIME is a signal boost for this project, particularly at a time when the Marley family is seeking to highlight the importance of such an event to Jamaica and especially because of how important Trench Town was to Bob” explained Norman Bryan, Ghetto Youths representative.

We are also very happy that LIME was able to reach out to two other great Jamaican companies -Supreme Ventures Ltd and KFC, who will be donating funds to the Ghetto Youths Foundation to aid with community projects in Trench Town.

Bryan said “History has proven that some of Jamaica’s brightest sons can come out of Trench Town and so for the past 12 years the members of the Marley family have pioneered this tribute to carry on the work started by Bob Marley.”

Stellar performances are also promised from friends of the Marley family including Tarrus Riley, Jah Cure, Dancehall group TOK, Wayne Marshall, Popcaan, veteran musician Tinga Stewart along with appearances by upcoming artists Jah 9, Fyakin, Potential Kid, Tanto Blacks, the Uprising Roots Band and many more.

The event scheduled for the Vin Lawrence Park in Trench Town will begin at 8:00pm. The broadcast will begin on LIME TV at the same time and will have exclusive interviews throughout. Admission is $300.
