O’Neil Has Faith In His Music

Life music artiste O’Neil Duncan says he has faith that his music will continue to touch hearts. The artiste who last month released his debut album in Cayman, is also planning to visit Jamaica over the Christmas holidays to promote the work dubbed I Know.

To promote the first single off the album O’Niel has also done a video for the song WHAT WE NEED IS LOVE. The video which was directed by Asha for Fareye films has been released globally and is currently in rotation on local cable and free to air television.

Inspired by the high levels of crime and violence in Jamaica, the video captures in very simple yet realistic way how even an innocent child can be a positive catalyst for change. This piece will carry the viewer through on a life changing journey.

Set at the Coronation Market Jamaica, the proverbial cultural melting pot of the island, the piece highlights a little girl, portrayed as an angel whose mission is to spread a message of love to those in despair. The message here is quite simple – even a little child shall lead them.

The dramatic presentation is quite effective as the situations are real and so are the characters. Asha reveals that the characters ably contributed to the overall appeal of the video: “This video was set in Coronation market because we wanted to get an authentic fell of the hustle and bustle of Jamaica. The video while simple is very powerful and I think caries the message of the song effectively”.

A teacher by profession, O’Neil says he wants people to reach out to God at all times and in all situations: “What we Need is Love is a cry for Jamaica and the video I believe echoes that cry. I hope Jamaicans will gain inspiration from it”.

Asked about the response to the album and single so far O’Niel says the reception has been encouraging: “People love the album and are inspired by it. It is amazing how it has touched many and this is the reason I continue to have faith in the music”

Expect more from O’Neil as he continues to reveal his brand of inspirational music.
