According to the raunchy entertainer, her latest single Watch Me Wine, produced by Young Veterans, is a sure dancehall hit. Opal came on to the dancehall scene in 2006 featuring in the Billboardhit single Hot Wuk, with fellow dancehall artiste Mr Vegas. The song received tremendous attention both locally and internationally, peaking on several charts in the region and the US.
According to Opal, Hot Wuk was her first attempt at doing music under the influence of Mr Vegas, who encouraged her to be part of the song. Since then, the soft-voiced DK has released numerous singles, such as I Said It in 2008. This got much air play on radio stations and at dancehall parties, also charting in St Lucia.
Wet Fête
The artiste, who hails from Denham Town, Kingston, has since performed at the St Lucia Love Fest and Antigua’s Wet Fête, among other local and regional events.
Now signed to reggae/dancehall producers Young Veterans, Opal is gearing up to make her presence felt in 2011.
The artiste says she has collaborations pending with dancehall heavyweight Elephant Man and international producer Major Laser, and is currently promoting her new single Watch Me Wine, where the artiste brags about her acrobatic wining skills.
