Singer Richie Stephens earns his first ever charting album on any Billboard album chart. His latest opus Reggae Evolution debuts at number nine on the Reggae album chart.
Reggae Evolution features 16 tracks including collaborations with Maxi Priest, Beres Hammond, Saba, Assassin and Mutabaruka.
A quick recap of Stephens’ Billboard chart history reveals that he has charted only once on the R&B Singles chart. In 1993 his collaboration Body Slam with Patra peaked at number 83.
Stephens, who was once signed to Motown Records, sang lead on British group Soul II Soul’s 1992 single Joy, which peaked at number 12 on Billboard’s R&B singles chart.
