Sean Paul not Arrested artiste's reps deny reports of drug charge

International dancehall artiste Sean Paul has not been arrested, despite popular reports that the artiste was arrested on ganja charges in Sweden.

According to reports published on mediatakeout.com, reggae superstar Sean Paul was reportedly arrested in Sweden during a drug stint last Friday night. The website stated, “according to one of our sources, the reggae superstar was caught and charged with possession of an unknown quantity of marijuana.”

The report continues: “And it gets worse. According to mediatakeout.com’s snitch the whole thing went down at the Uppsala Reggae Festival – a well known event. Word is that undercover officers called for a raid when they spotted Sean Paul and a group of other artistes smoking marijuana – which is illegal in Sweden.”

The alleged arrest was also reported on dancehallreggae.com, which claimed, “X17 is hearing that Sean Paul and several other important artistes were searched by police and arrested for drug possession after performing at the Uppsala Reggae Festival…the cops were really intent on catching the rude boys red handed, too – they even sent police dogs to Sean Paul’s room at the First Hotel Linne to check for contraband!”

Carlette DeLeon of Headline Entertainment, booking agent for the artiste, firmly denied the reports.

She told The STAR, “Sean Paul has not been arrested. Sean was not arrested in Sweden or in any other country, he has not been charged with a crime anywhere in this world.”

She further stated, “It is my understanding that is was a routine police check but Sean Paul was not arrested and the tour is continuing smoothly.”

The artiste is currently on tour in Europe, performing in countries such as Tunisia on the North Coast of Africa. Sean Paul is also working on his yet to be entitled album and recently released singles such as Grip, Girl’s Territory with Shane O and Don’t Tease Me on Stephen McGregor’s Work Out Riddim.
