Young Jeezy on DJ Drama: I’m Not Gonna F*** With Him Anymore

It’s been brewing for months, but not much is known about the beef between southern heavyweights Young Jeezy and DJ Drama. After all, both created a buzz for themselves with their collaborative mixtape Gangsta Grillz: Trap or Die in 2005.

As of late, there’s talk about tension between the two, enough that a brawl broke out between each of their camps earlier this year at a screening of “Notorious” in Atlanta.

In cover story of newest issue of XXL (spotted on Karen Civil), Young Jeezy spoke about his relationship with the popular mixtape DJ and why they had a fall out.

“Drama just started acting like a bitch. Drama wanted to be Khaled, but he didn’t want to help nobody,” Jeezy explains. “He just changed, period. Look at his crew. The same n****s ain’t around him. You ain’t never been in no streets. I could never have no beef with a n**** like that. He’s a cornball.

“You made millions off my mixtapes, to the point where the f***in’ feds scooped you up for bootlegging. I never even made the money he made off of Trap or Die or Tha Streets Iz Watchin, because they were selling and distributing them and making money,” he continued.

Apparently, DJ Drama tried to overcharge Jeezy to put together a mixtape for one of his up-and-coming artists, despite recording several verses for him in the past. That didn’t sit well with Jeezy and has put a strain on their working relationship.

“We will never do a mixtape together,” exclaimed Jeezy “I didn’t charge that n**** for [contributing a verse to the song ‘5000 Ones,’ on Drama’s official debut]. But then when I need [a tape for one of my artists], and you want to charge me $20,000?”

Despite feeling as if Drama was being disloyal, he makes it clear that there will be no physical altercation between the two artists.

“I’ll slap the sh** out of Drama. He knows that. He wasn’t loyal,” says Jeezy, “but me putting my hands on that man ain’t gonna make him respect what I’m saying. I’m just not gonna f*** with him anymore.”

DJ Drama must’ve heard what’s to come, because the mixtape king updated his Twitter on Thursday (July 30) with what seemed to be a response to Jeezy’s words.

“Damn what did I land to? Lol … it’ll get addressed people, don’t believe them lies,” he wrote.

XXL’s new issue hits newsstands next week.
