International Reggae recording artist Da’Ville, born Orville Thomas in Kingston, Jamaica, is singing his way up the US iTunes Reggae Singles Chart with his latest song “Only You”, a track produced by newcomer Jenelle Alexia from A’Legends Productions. Released on Friday, May 10, 2024, “Only You” debuted at number 31 on Tuesday, May 14 then climbed to number 25 before settling at number 23 by midnight.

The track’s success a mere 4 days after its release can be attributed to Da’Ville’s recent appearance on stage at the Marcia Griffiths and Friends concert in Miramar, Florida on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 12th. The reggae crooner gave a stunning performance alongside the legendary songstress herself as well as solo performances of his world-renowned hit tracks. Da’Ville had the crowd, filled with ladies, eating out of his hands as they sang along to their favorite Da’Ville songs.  It was an outstanding performance, noteworthy enough to be remembered by all in attendance for sometime to come.

Da’Ville gives us “Only You” on the Bankx Riddim

Prior to showtime, he had previously been interviewed on the Sound Chek Podcast by New Vision Sound members in South Florida on the day of the song’s release where he spoke tenaciously about “Only You”. Da’Ville maintains his stance on singing for his female audience but has moved with the times by using modern social media platforms to aid in his promotional campaigns and staying relevant to this generation and those of the future.

An entire team has been established behind the song and artist, who are helping to push it all the way to the top of the charts. Consisting of Lesley Hayles as PR and Garry Rainford from Real Live Records, everyone has been working assiduously alongside Da’Ville, Jenelle Alexia and her promotions team at Ejor Media Group. They have each contributed to the proper presentation and promotion of “Only You”, allowing them the opportunity to see their hard work grow into fruition.

While a single by itself, “Only You” was recorded on the highly successful Bankx Riddim which not only debuted in the Top 10 Reggae Albums Chart but also had all 7 tracks hit the Top 200 Reggae Singles Chart. The album also garnered a number 60 placing in Sweden for streaming on Apple Music.

A former member of the group ARP with hits like “Lions Sleep Tonight” and featured on Beenie Man’s “Storm (On & On)” track, Da’Ville has seen success from the 90s era and understands how the industry works, knowing he should never be complacent in his fame. He has remained vigilant in his pursuit of international acclaim and has flourished quite remarkably in doing so.
