His music has survived over four decades and he continues to be a force in reggae, and come tonight singer Freddie McGregor seeks to live up to those accolades when he performs in Hopewell, Hanover.
The international reggae star will perform live at the Peoplez Bar and Restaurant in the parish under the theme Heineken Retro Vibes.
“It is quite fitting indeed to celebrate my achievements in music with persons out west and Hopewell in particular,” the veteran musician explained.
It is good to do something outside of Kingston and I am definitely looking forward to sharing that good vibe and entertainment with my fans in the west and I encourage everyone to come and be a part of the celebration in Hopewell this Saturday” he noted.
According to Clayton Campbell, promoter of Heineken Retro Vibes the event seeks to celebrate and honour the best of Jamaica’s music from the past and McGregor personifies the concept is about.
“Freddie McGregor is an icon and he epitomises what reggae is all about and what the concept of this event is. It is a retro party and he will perform live which will give persons a great opportunity to interact with him and his music” he revealed.
The event will see patrons partying to the best in music from the 50s through to the 90s and will climax with a live performance from the reggae icon.
