drake and common beef

Looks like Drake has fired back at Common for dissing him on his record “Sweet.”

In a song entitled “Stay Scheming” that also features Officer Ricky and French Montana, Drizzy fires off a line that seems to get at Common.

I just ask that when you see me, you speak up n*gga that’s all/Don’t be ducking like you never wanted nothing,” Drake raps. “It’s feeling like rap changed, it was a time it was rugged/Back when if a n*gga reached it was for the weapon, nowadays n*ggas reach just to sell their record.

In an interview yesterday (January 6) French told Justin Credible of the L.A. Leakers that he spoke with Drizzy, who wouldn’t reveal who he was dissing.

I just got off the phone with Drake and he didn’t even want to tell me,” French said. “They can read between the lines.”

At this point there really shouldn’t be a need to be subliminal on Drake’s part. Common clearly called him out for singing on most of his records on “Sweet.” And he did it right before his album, The Dreamer/The Believer dropped which ties into Drake’s line, “nowadays n*ggas reach just to sell their record.
