50 Cent’s entertainment empire continues to grow. During the Sundance Film Festival this weekend, the rapper and sometimes actor announced that he plans on producing independent films.
According to the Los Angeles Times, 50 Cent (born Curtis Jackson) held a news conference this Saturday (Jan.19) at the House of Hype in Park City, Utah to declare the formation of his new company.
50’s partners in the new venture include longtime manager Chris Lighty and Randall Emmett; who produced the 50 Cent films Home of the Brave and Righteous Kill.
Thus far the new production company has not been named, and despite the new venture, 50 says he continues to have a passion for music.
As previously reported, 50 will play a drug dealer in Righteous Kill, which stars powerhouse actors Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino.
Righteous Kill is scheduled to arrive in theatres on April 18.
