Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys has reportedly been selected to perform the title song for the upcoming James Bond flick Quantum of Solace.
According to E! Online, the R&B superstar was chosen over a strong line-up of top sensations including Beyonc, Leona Lewis, and Duran Duran. Although no official confirmation from Keys or the studio has been released, a source told E! the decision seemed final.
“I believe Alicia is the winner, the source said.
Amy Winehouse was originally chosen to perform the title song with popular producer Mark Ronson, however she never finished recording.
While Keys will not be starring in the film, the singer has a growing resume as an actress. Keys movie experience includes her role in the action flick Smokin Aces and comedy-drama The Nanny Diaries. Keys, who is currently on her worldwide “As I Am tour until the end of October, will be also be featured in the upcoming movie The Secret Life of Bees with Queen Latifah and Jennifer Hudson.
Searching to even the score for the death of his lover, the new Bond film has the secret agent out to prevent an environmentalist from taking control of a countrys water supply.
The 22nd Bond film to date, Quantum of Solace is scheduled to hit theaters November 7th.
