Kingston, Jamaica – June 7th, 2011 (HDP Ent) – “Cowfoot” It’s not something for everyone, either love it or you hate it, a dish common to many Caribbean Islands, has now been transformed into much more. Meet the new “cowfoot”, Macka Diamond‘s way.
Inspired by a dance created by Shelly Belly, at Cowfoot Sundays (formerly kept at Maxfield Park), Macka remarks, “One day I saw Shelly Belly doing a dance which I liked and he say its the cowfoot dance. We recorded it, started promoting it, and now its one of the hottest songs in the dancehall now.”
Releasing in March 2011, the song has hit airwaves all over Jamaica, and being introduced into dancehall parties worldwide. Produced by Macho Kid from Shadane Productions, the colorful song has quickly gained popularity by a recent appearances from Macka & Shelly Belly demonstrating the dance.
With a career spanning over 20 years, the Mackadocious Diva, has been there, done that, and knows exactly what she’s doing. Adapting with the changing dancehall scene, Macka can hold her weight with both male and female djs. Recently winning an IRAWMA and SOFLO award for Female DJ of the Year, Macka Diamond is excited about what the rest of 2011 has in store.
Touching Guyana soon for a movie premiere, show dates in the US, and more time in the studio, Macka Diamond is preparing for a busy summer, but for now you can catch her introducing the world to “cowfoot“, her way.
