Kingston Jamaica, (Mpr & Consulting): Nicole Sky Grey referred to as “Sky Grey” is intriguingly enigmatic. Sky is passionate, driven, and super ambitious; yet full of a joyful appreciation of simplicity and living in the moment. She is equally at ease in the cane fields of rural Clarendon, Jamaica where she was in part raised, as she is on the Fashion Week catwalks of London, NYC, or Paris.
As a child, Sky had dreams of following in the musical footsteps of pop/dancehall icons Madonna, Britney, Tanya Stephens and Lady Saw. Such glamorous fantasies were a necessary escape from the tomboy life that she lived as the only girl with three brothers in cane country. But it was during High School in Kingston, that Sky discovered her actual love of the theatrical stage, voiced her initial dancehall tracks, and first saw her potential for success in the modeling industry by becoming one of five finalists in the Pulse Model Search.
Sky accumulated clients like, M.A.C, Diesel, and Agent Provocateur. Editorially, Sky has graced the cover of SHE Magazine, and has been featured in Self, Cosmopolitan, Pride, Essence, and O Magazines. Her modeling base has been outside of Jamaica for most of her career with an initial stellar launch in the UK and a continued intensity in NYC. Sky shrewdly has managed to leverage her contacts and influence as a model to work with selected producers throughout her modeling career, shaping her sound and influencing her style to a more universal and pop culture idiom while still maintaining her essential love for dancehall music fundamentals.
Yet it was her visibility as a model that attracted filmmakers Paul Bucknor (co-producer Oscar winning “The Full Monty” ) and Storm Saulter to cast her as the female lead in the hugely successful Jamaican independent political dramatic film “Better Mus Come”. Sky was not content to sit back and relax during the accolades and rave reviews accredited to her emotional and soulful performance. She immediately sought after and won another leading role in the New York based independent film “Restless City”, a musical drama directed by Andrew Dosunmu that premiered in Spring 2011 at the Sundance Film Festival to huge critical acclaim.
As a Brand Ambassador for Red Stripe Bold she is one of the prominent faces of the 2011 Red Stripe Reggae Sumfest Campaign which highlights her involvement in music industry.
With the recent release of her highly anticipated single, Lollipop (a racy club anthem produced by R&B industry giant Taylor Mayde) Sky has been circulating on the local and international stage.
