Internation Reggae artiste Koffee describes her user experience with the new 360 Reality Audio, created by Sony.
Immerse yourself in sound all around you with any pair of headphones or compatible speakers. Music has never been so immersive and so real.
360 Reality Audio is a new and immersive music experience that uses Sony’s object-based spatial audio technology to allow individual sounds such as vocal, chorus, piano, guitar, bass, and even sounds of the live audience to be placed in a 360 spherical sound field.
With the defined information of distance and angle, artists and creators have a new way to express their creativity and reproduce music exactly how they intend to. Steve Garrigan, from the Irish band Kodaline, relays how “music is what feelings sound like…sometimes you can capture in a song an emotion that you can’t put into words…it just comes across” and this new way of listening to a song can enhance this feeling that can’t be expressed in any other way. The invention of music reproduction gave us access to special experiences. 2-channel stereo speakers brought a left-right sound field. With five-channel speakers, the music image expanded. And with multiple speakers, we could be enveloped with music around, above and below us.
