MTV Tempo partners with All-Island Carnival

Kingston, Jamaica – The LIME All-Island Carnival has been creating quite a buzz since its launch last Wednesday evening at the Devonshire, Devon House. The 12 week carnival series which will encompass soca lovers revelling and partying in 10 parishes across the island, has since announced on their social media platforms ta partnership with MTV Caribbean television network Tempo.

The Caribbean station will be promoting All-Island Carnival through a series of advertisements, interviews and coverage over the three month period. Tristar Entertainment director Marvin Lawrence said in announcing the partnership that Tristar approached Tempo’s CEO Fredrick Morton about the possible venture.

“He thought the idea of a collaboration between All-Island Carnival and Tempo was a great notion and the fusion will do well for the network and the promotion of the event,” Lawrence said. He continued by saying that “a partnership between All-Island and Tempo is only fitting seeing that this is a Caribbean event for Caribbean people,” Lawrence said. He and Tristar Entertainment team, Julius Morgan and Larry Johnson, have been marketing the event regionally and have said that the event “is not a Kingston-only party”.

“Not only are we bringing carnival to other parishes that have been left out before but we are issuing invitations to other Caribbean islands and countries outside the Caribbean to bask in how Jamaicans celebrate carnival,” Morgan says.

Lawrence emphasised that Tempo’s involvement in the carnival is ideal as other Caribbean countries who subscribe to the network will feel as though they too are a part of the events in Jamaica, and will even seek to come to some of them.

“No doubt that when they see our energy, our production and our entertainment package persons will indeed make plans to be a part of All-Island Carnival,” he said.

The first event in the series kicks off this Saturday, January 29 at the UDC field in New Kingston – complete with soca star Lil Rick and dancehall top acts Aidonia, Tanto Blacks and Elephant Man. Tickets for the first All-Island Carnival event tickets will be sold at Cuddyz, Xtraz Manor Park, Xtraz Mall Plaza, LG Service Station and Scotchies at a pre-sale cost of $1200 and $3000 for VIP. Persons who purchase tickets at the gate will pay $1500.
