Portland-based dancehall artiste Rd Prominent is determined to put his parish on the musical map. The lyrically potent singjay has impressed many in his native parish and as such his local support system is very strong.
According to Rd Prominent this fuels his push forward. “I want people to look at Portland as a musical hub and I believe when me buss dat ago gwaan. This desire keeps me focused because my progression is my Parish’s progression.”
Born Kavanic Sampson, he was raised in Port Antonio Portland and grew up listening to a melting pot of local and international music. It was not until 2020 when he got his first chance to pursue his musical career professionally and he has not looked back since. He has released a plethora of singles including Rapidus, Won’t Lie and Leader. According to Rd Prominent he has countless songs to release.
“I have more songs than I care to count with varied topics I am just pacing myself. I am here to stay” stated Rd Prominent.
Currently, Rd Prominent is busy in the studio adding finishing touches to his EP.
