Making the transition from behind the consoles to the center of attention on the main stage as the performing and recording artiste can be an elusive and daunting task. However, popular Suncity Radio Deejay Weed Seed says for him it is a natural transition and one he says was bound to happen sooner rather than later considering the fact that he has always been helping other artists with songwriting and music production.
He also outlines that being an event promoter and radio deejay gives him a distinct advantage as his wealth of experience helped him to develop well-trained “musical ears” and based on the earth-shattering street buzz his current single entitled, Legends is currently generating he may be right.
” I know what people want to hear on a record because I have played records for many years and I know how to use my voice to craft a sound that is unique to me because I am also a trained studio engineer and music producer so the recording artiste aspect of my brand was a natural transition. I have several songs to release which I am confident will create a major impact locally and internationally because I am bringing a fresh style of writing and delivery to the market” stated Star Bouy.
The former graduate of the Edna Manley College Of The Performing Arts first rose to prominence as a music producer by churning out hits for the likes of Vybz Kartel, Beenie Man, Bounty Killer and Sizzla. This came as no surprise to his immediate circle as he is from a family with a rich musical heritage as his father is a musical teacher and touring musician while his uncle Tony “Ruff Cut” Phillips is a celebrated musician. According to Starbouy music was always his career choice and as such wanted to master all aspects of music from an early age.
“Music has always been a part of my life and as such from me a yute me seh me haffi learn everything about music because when I transition into the afterlife I want to leave a legacy of musical greatness like Bob Marley and others did.
Currently, Star Bouy is signed to Braeton Connection Records and is kept busy promoting his latest single entitled, Legends which is currently available on major digital platforms and is enjoying mainstream radio rotation.
