Newcomer Raine Seville is looking to snag that breakthrough hit after making the rounds at music video outlets and FM radio with the tracks Drive Me Crazy and Belly Wine. Her most recent recording, If Its Love You’re Looking For which features dancehall sound system selector turned deejay Tony Matterhorn, really turns up the heat.
The single, produced by Ricky Blaze from Miami, is quite a steamy recording which is percolated by a thumping and inescapable beat. If given the right promotional TLC, it could open the bolted doors on which Seville has been knocking.
Matterhorn, who previously dented charts with Dutty Wine, Goodas Fi Dem and Man From Mars, throws down a knockout performance on the track.
According to Seville, working with Matterhorn was a relaxing experience. “It was great and it was quite relaxing for me. Tony wrote the entire song and while we were recording the track, he gave me some helpful guidance along the way,” Seville told this column earlier this week.
Seville added, “It’s a very sexy song which displays a lot of confidence on Tony’s and my part. The essence of the song is really a girl searching for love and the guy is telling her that he’s the perfect one for her. But I’m saying to him, okay if you are all that then prove yourself.”
Seville also has a handful of singles bubbling at radio. They include the TJ Records produced Too Late and the Lefside produced Be Careful.
