One of St Elizabeth’s biggest events, Hype 2K10 will see budding reggae artiste Vybrant taking the stage in what he says will be a special performance. This explosion of entertainment that annually takes place in St Elizabeth will be held on Saturday April 3.
Vybrant, born Andre Johnson, says that he’s hoping to woo some new fans at this event which is known to attract huge turnouts. Vybrant is ready, with his positive attitude, music and conscious lyrics.
“I’m going out there to get some new fans and to do what I love,” Vybrant says. “The people can look out for some good music and an energetic performance from me, because 2010 is the year for reggae and cultural music.”
A Rastafarian, Vybrant is adamant that his music should uplift people’s spirit and leaves listeners on a high, which is what he aims to do on the Hype 2K10 stage.
“Every performance is not the same for me. The songs are the same and the music is the same, but the vibe is different, and every crowd is different. Hype 2K10 is going to get a lot of energy from me because I’m planning a wicked performance,” he said.
Having worked with a cadre of top Jamaican producers, placed in the Top 10 of the JCDC Popular Song competition, and performed alongside a litany of great Jamaican artistes, Vybrant knows how to thrill a crowd. Tracks such as Cease Fire, What You’re Fighting For, Birth Place and Ears Hard are just a taste of what’s to come from the reservoir of talent which Vybrant possesses.
He is also teasing music lovers, saying that his recent time in the studio will pay off very soon with a follow-up single to the high-riding, chart-topping Ears Hard.
“Just keep your ears ready for some more good music,” he says.
