Vybz Kartel Teachas Pet Video

With legal woes seeming to increase daily, dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel has recorded an audio clip behind bars, somewhat proclaiming his innocence.

The clip in question surfaced on YouTube on the weekend with the deejay, who has been in police custody since September 30, questioning the actions of the police.

The audio clip starts with him saying, “Dem seh wi a fugitive, system a pree the Gaza general.”

He continues to sing: “The system a pree mi, dem a seh mi a don enuh/ Nuh call me so/ True mi help ghetto yute weh nuh have enuh/ Why you do dat Mr Officer/ Weh yuh come search mi house so fa/ Weh yuh waan lock up ‘Shorty’ fa/ Yuh nuh see mi wid no gun enuh officer.”

This is the first fans have heard anything from Vybz Kartel since his arrest two weeks ago. Initially, he was charged with illegal possession of ganja. Three others were also charged for the same offence. When he appeared in court to answer to the ganja charge, Vybz Kartel pleaded not guilty.

Following that first charge, the police also searched properties in St Catherine and St Andrew supposedly owned by the artiste. After their massive search, Vybz Kartel was also charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder and possession of an illegal firearm.

The allegation is that on July 11 Kartel along with other men conspired to murder Barrington ‘Bossie’ Burton, a 27-year-old businessman/promoter of a Gregory Park address in St Catherine. Burton was murdered while he was standing with friends along Walkers Avenue in Gregory Park.

In the two weeks he has spent behind bars, he has made several trips to court to answer to the charges. Meanwhile, his fans on Facebook have created groups calling for his freedom.
