50 Cent Announces Upcoming MTV Reality Show

50 Cent is one of the most successful hip-hop artists in the game today. Earning a reported $150 million in 2007, according to Forbes, he’s definitely one you want to take business advice from.

As he puts it, “If I was just my image, I wouldn’t have made this much money.” 50 Cent’s success is nothing less than the American dream, and with a new reality show called “The Money and the Power” coming in November, he plans to be an inspiration for a new generation of street-savvy entrepreneurs.

The upcoming MTV reality show, which is hosted by and stars 50 Cent, will document selected contestants as they compete against each other sharing their business ideas, in hopes of winning 50’s support and $100,000 investment.

“The Money and the Power” contestants will work together and living at “Camp Curtis,” a Brooklyn warehouse where they sleep in tents named after the five boroughs of New York City. The 14 wannabe moguls, personally hand-picked by 50 Cent, compete in inventive challenges that the music mogul helped create, while mastering the skills that took the rapper from his life in the hood all the way to the top of corporate America.

Each week, 50 Cent will narrow down his search by testing the candidates on the knowledge he has taught them, while pushing them to their limit. Also during the course of the show, special appearances will be made by LL Cool J, Aubrey O’Day of Danity Kane, Lloyd Banks and radio personality and blogger Miss Info.

50’s G-Unit comrade, Tony Yayo, will also appear on the show as “Underboss” and right hand man, keeping the contestants in line for 50 Cent throughout the series.

“50 Cent: The Money and the Power” will premiere on MTV on Thursday, November 6th at 10pm ET/PT.

In addition to reality TV, 50 is prepping a book titled The 50th Law. It is co-authored with Robert Greene (The 48 Laws of Power), and will share the lessons the rapper has learned as a street hustler and how those lessons allowed him to become the success he is today.
