Rihanna worked her tail off in 2011 and it paid off big time. The singer’s “Loud” tour grossed an incredible $90 million dollars, placing it at No. 9 among all tours for the year.
She had battled through a brief hospitalization in November due to severe exhaustion to complete the 78 city, 6-month tour, which hit North America, South America and Europe.
The trek bested tours by heavy hitters such as Sade, Paul McCartney, Britney Spears, Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. The only female artist with a higher 2011 tour gross was Taylor Swift, who raked in $104 million to place 4th on the list.
Only one rap tour managed to crack the top 25. Jay-Z and Kanye West’s “Watch The Throne” trek grossed $48.3 million to earn the No. 23 spot.
