Tension is brewing between 50 Cent and Miami’s big boss Rick Ross. Ever since Ross’ “Mafia Music” leaked to the net, talk about a beef heightened, and then was fueled when Fiddy leaked his response, “Officer Ricky (Go ‘Head, Try Me),” Thursday (January 29).
The Miami rapper has already heard the track, and isn’t impressed, via an interview Friday morning (January 30) with Shade 45’s Angela Yee.
“I heard that, but I was positive that couldn’t be the response,” the rapper said. “You got to be f***ing joking New York City. It’s the Mecca of hip-hop right? That can’t be the f***ing response. You insult ‘Mafia Music’ like that. We gone all act like we didn’t hear that garbage. We gone give you another 48 hours. Go back in the lab, and come up with something else.”
On 50’s new track, the G-Unit founder taunts Ross for his checkered past, specifically, his alleged history as a correctional officer before moving on to hip-hop stardom.
“Officer Ricky radio for backup / See your a** anyway, you know I’m gonna act up,” 50 raps. “You wanna play with me when I don’t wanna play? / Have my n****s whip the skin off your a** in broad day / Screaming, ‘Boss,’ n**** , you ain’t a boss / Pu*** n****, you’re lost / Listen, Officer Ross.”
Angela Yee tried to get some kind of history, as to where the beef stems from. However, Ross was tight-lipped about the details, claiming he was disappointed when he first met the New York rapper.
“He’s a n**** I actually seen at the BET Awards. I had different intentions for him. When I went backstage and I bumped into him, he made an expression on his face that kind of disappointed me, being a real n****,” Ross explained. “I gave him a pass, and we just kept it moving. At the same token, it was just time to let n****s know what the real was.”
Yee asked the asked him to elaborate, but Ross refused. Instead, he said people should listen to the diss track, “Mafia Music,” because it’s “all real.”
“I’ll be honest, I’m not going to go into that side of it because that’s not really important,” he said. “What’s important is ‘Mafia Music’, it’s a real record. It’s all real. And, it’s coming to life.”
The beef comes as the Miami rapper prepares the release of his next album, Deeper Than Rap. And while 50 preps Before I Self-Destruct.
