Yesterday, Republic Records reported that Drake’s new album VIEWS sold a total of 1.2 million copies, including streaming numbers, in its first six days. Over a million of those sales were coming from the U.S. In addition, in that same time frame, VIEWS was streamed over 250 million times, with over 200 million of those coming from within the United States. Hits Daily Double is going a little further into detail, referring to the final sales number as approximately 1,075,494. VIEWS sold an estimated 855,013 hard units via iTunes, breaking the one million mark with streams. While the RIAA has yet to confirm the numbers, Drake took to his Instagram to thank his fans for making the album going platinum, writing “One million sold in one week. I am beyond grateful for this milestone.”
