Bar-Bee celebrates birthday by giving to charity

Singer Bar-Bee decided to spend her birthday on Sunday, giving a little back to various communities rather than receiving gifts for herself.

The Love You Anyway singer went on a mini-tour with her team of family and friends, serving over 1,000 plates of food to persons in the Spanish Town, Half-Way Tree, New Kingston and downtown Kingston areas.Equipped with her large bus, friends, food and the slogan ‘A little goes a long way’, a number of persons were happily fed on Sunday.

Bar-Bee told THE STAR, “This event was to celebrate my birthday – instead of having a big birthday, myself, friends and family cooked over 1,000 plates of food and gave them out in the streets to persons.” This is not the first time Bar-Bee has done this, as she said persons who had benefited the last time, as soon as they spotted the bus, they knew that Bar-Bee was in town.

“It was so nice, everywhere we went was packed, people were dancing in the streets. It’s something I want to do every month, even when I’m not here, I want my team to continue to do it,” she said. The singer has been busy in the studio and is getting ready to release her next music video for the Dean Fraser-produced song, Can I Stay With You.
