Craig C has just released his first gospel album that fully displays his musical talent, but he still remains focused on his educational path.

The artiste, whose real name is Collin Chambers, launched his debut album ‘In Your Presence’ on Saturday at the Courtleigh Auditorium. He says the 15 track album reflects his experiences and were all written by him.

“When you are out of His presence you have a hunger to get back in. Everything starts going wrong. So you have to find yourself back into His presence,” said Craig C.

He continued, “Life itself is an inspiration. Everyday you go through different situations and I just express that in song.”

The album was released on his label, Spiritual In Mind Lyrically Inclined. It has songs like My Help that features L.J., Dreaming, with Prodigal Son, God Man Anthem and You which features Mercy, which was quite popular.

He says this album has hip-hop and a mix of other genres. However, he plans to release another album by year end that will include dancehall and reggae gospel tracks in an undiluted form.

Craig C hails from Portmore in St. Catherine. He attended Ardenne High and will soon complete his first degree in Management Studies at the University of the West Indies.

Though his company is not fully registered, he says he wants to help groom younger gospel artistes as well. With this in mind, he says that he would not sign to any other company unless they sign his entire company and his artistes.

“Older artistes tend to stifle younger artistes. My company will be a medium to get younger gospel artistes out,” he said.

While the careers of some artistes have been stifled this was not the case with Craig. He has worked with several top flight producers including Dr. Dizzle, whom he describes as one of the best gospel producers. He has also worked with Radikal Communications for two years.
