Kingston, Jamaica. December 27, 2009: A New Day is definitely Dawning on the entertainment industry and it was very evident from the moment the ‘Superwoman’ DENYQUE took the Sting stage at approximate 12:30am. Introduced to the stage as the female that is winning hearts and making you “Can’t Breathe”, her unique voice blitzed through the air and over the crowd as she says “STING!!! Without you I Can’t Breathe”. Immediately, cheers were heard coming from the crowd as they were very much familiar with her first single.
DENYQUE then started her performance with a slowed down rendition of her Don Corleon produced single “Pieces” that had her crowded Sting audience standing still and in attention and listening to every word she had to sing. She then ‘Strut’ her way across the stage during her performance and went into her second song “Can’t Breathe” with clear, powerful and controlled vocals. During her performances, clear cheers and whistles could be heard as she performed, a clear indication that her performance was well received.
When asked what was the experience like for her, her first time on the Sting stage, “I was shocked, the reception I received was beyond what I expected, the audience was far more receptive than I imagined and I thought I heard people singing along, wow!”.
Industry personnel and fans are all talking very well about Denyque’s Sting performance, touting her as one of the performances that surpassed expectations on the night along with Chuck Fenda (Living Fire) & Assassin. The year of 2009 is ending on a high note for DENYQUE and we are expecting this momentum to continue and increase in 2010, as she is scheduled to go on an international tour in March.
