Did Rampin' Spice get roughed up by beau?

Deejay Spice is denying reports that she was beaten by her boyfriend and father of her child, Nicholas Lall.

It has been reported that on Thursday of last week, the artiste, whose real name is Grace Hamilton, was beaten by her boyfriend after the two had an argument. Spice was supposedly hit several times in the face and was taken to the hospital for treatment. When THE STAR contacted the artiste, however, she was adamant that she had not been beaten.

Lall and Spice have been together for two years and recently had a child together, the first for the deejay.

She said: “My boyfriend and I had an argument over a natural domestic matter. I want to end the relationship, so I asked him to leave. It got into an argument and I called the police and we were escorted to the station.”

Spice said: “He didn’t punch me. It wasn’t like that. We were just having an argument. He was taken into custody and it was too late to get bail. We went on Friday to bail him out, but it didn’t work out, so he spent a few nights in jail.”

In custody

Lall was still in custody up to yesterday and could not be reached for a comment.

Over the weekend, after a raunchy performance between Spice and fellow deejay Vybz Kartel, speculations were rampant that the argument between Spice and her boyfriend arose because of a relationship between Spice and Kartel.

Fuel was added to the fire as the promotional pictures for their song Rampin’ Shop made the rounds on the Internet. The photos showed the two semi-nude deejays cosying up together. However, Spice said: “It’s nothing like that. When two people are seen partying and having fun, people will say that. Kartel and I did the song a couple of days ago and we’re out promoting the song.”

As for her relationship with her boyfriend, she told THE STAR: “I want to end the relationship, but it’s not as easy as the snap of my finger. I have a natural love for him. We’ve been together for two years and we have a child together.”

Spice and Kartel are set to film a video for the song. They also recently returned from a show in Guyana, where they did a commercial for the local beer company Polar. Spice is currently in the studio working on more songs.
