Dream secret 'short-circuited' – Smirnoff weekend's secret final party revealed

For over eight years now, Short Circuit has stapled itself as being the most popular, well executed, most anticipated and supported one-night event in the city of Montego Bay, attracting more than 6,000 patrons annually.

Now, the event will become part of Smirnoff Dream Weekend.

According to a cable between the Dream Embassy in St Andrew and the Dream Team on location in Negril, the party has become part of the weekend because of the organiser’s attention to detail and the use of top-billing artistes.

In 2008, for instance, the event featured multi-platinum selling artiste Rick Ross and Bobby Valentino.

“Now we have moved to another level with our inclusion on the world-famous Smirnoff Dream Weekend that showcases the best that event has to offer in Jamaica,” the cable read.

According to the cable, residents of Montego Bay are very excited about having something that is theirs as part of the Dream Weekend. The promoters are confident that the event will leave Montego Bay empty, not just because it is from the city, but because it has all the assets “required to be considered a Dream event”.

The cable went on to say that the promoters guaranteed “Short Circuit will add its unique MoBay flavour to the line-up and it will be one to remember and talk about when it’s over.”

Persons with Dream armbands enter the event free while all others will pay. Women enter for $500 before midnight while men pay $1,000. Women after midnight will have to pay the regular price.

The event will be held at The Rain Forest in Negril and will feature music from 3rd Dimension, Little Richie, DJ Nicco, Insomniak, Dexter Peppa, DJ Absolut, and DJ Blue. There will also be a surprise special guest appearance.
