Drenz Fashion "The Underdogs" Stirred-Up Style Week

The brand that came to be known to us all for its edgy and fashionable t-shirts have somehow made its way for a debut on the runway of Style Week Men’s Collection on the 09 July 2010 at Devon House in Kingston. You may have seen Drenz Fashion’s barcode logo in the streets on T-shirts but never like this before as the collection pleasantly surprised the audience of Style Week, and resulted in the press giving the underdog brand stunning reviews about his collection.

drenz fashionThe Saint models strutted in apparels ranging from blazers, pants, trench coats, sport jackets to t-shirts and merinos, none were short of the Drenz swag. The Drenzified edge that was presented through the apparels were very noticeable and worthy of such. The brand exhibited that it’s much more than a t-shirt brand and will be one to be reckoned with, showing off some very clever and GQ designs that still clenched on to its street appeal.

The line was well received due to the element of surprise within the line, and the brand continues to relish in great reviews. They switched up the levels and showed some formal and casu-formal designs that were indeed Style Week worthy.
We caught up with Richie Drenz to ask a few questions.

Question: What was the inspiration for your collection?

Answer: The collection was inspired by two things, remaining street and being different. We wanted to take to the table some Drenzy stuffs that would add value to Saints production, whilst showing off our unique approach to fashion.

Question: How did you get on the Style Week event?

Answer: It was kind of a weird way that we got on. I was at my friend’s house party, Aleef Davis and he introduced me to a friend of his Gillian Pottinger, we exchanged like 2 lines, then couple weeks later she called asking me if I would like an opportunity to be on Style Week because she had just done a model meeting with someone from Saints. I welcomed the opportunity, went through the stages and here I am. So at that moment I almost got in from someone I didn’t even know, however we have since then developed a friendship.

Question: What should we expect from Drenz fashion in the near future?

Answer: I want to master my craft even more and make even more fashionably savvy apparels that have an international appeal yet still street. The Drenz Fashion website will be coming later this year. I ultimately want to be the best at GQ and casual fashion that is street and a representative Jamaica.

The brand had just closed the Magnum Kings & Queens of the Dancehall with a smashing collection, Light up Style Week, where’s next?
