Not many new dancehall artistes can honestly say that they are followed by dancehall superstar Vybz Kartel on Instagram which is widely seen as a stamp of approval among musical pundits. Tattoo artiste turned recording artiste Ink Surgeon says he considers it to be a huge honour to be followed by the great Vybz Kartel who he considers to be the best dancehall artiste of all time. According to the fast rising deejay many producers, managers and other key musical insiders have reached out to him on that basis.
“Vybz Kartel is the benchmark for dancehall music so for him to recognize me at such an early stage in my career has caused many key people in local and international music to take me serious because dem say if teacha a pree yuh dat mean yuh must have talent. I am currently getting the opportunity to work with a lot of important people who are opening many doors for which I am very grateful” stated Ink Surgeon.
The fast rising dancehall deejay also seems to have finally found his break out single based on the support his latest single entitled “Gyal A Bubble” has been getting from the dancehall fraternity on social media. According to Ink Surgeon this song was created with female dancehall fans in mind.
“Dancehall has been lacking the good vibes for the ladies of late and I think that is partly due to the effects of the pandemic so when I went into the studio I said to myself let me create something for the girls to bruk out to and obviously its working because the girls dem already a gwaan bad pon di gram” stated Ink Surgeon.
Gyal A bubble is now out on all social media platforms while the music video which features popular dancers Sara Bendii and Chinny Unique is available on InkSurgeonVevo. Ink Surgeon previously made his mark in 2019 with a single entitled “Gyal Magnet” which caught the eyes of many musical pundits including superstar Vybz Kartel who follows him on Instagram.
