IN THE DANCE releases album on iTunes

According to co-executive producer of the IN THE DANCE television show, Chez Gayle, the album features music that was produced exclusively for the show, along with “some added brawta”.

“The album is 25 tracks, and all the songs are produced by Jamaica’s super female producer, The Wizard. Not all the artistes who recorded for the show got a chance to perform, but people can get more than a pleasing earful from In The Dance Music, Jamaica Vol.1,” Gayle said.

IN THE DANCE created history for Jamaican television by becoming the first locally produced TV show to be syndicated regionally and internationally. The show is still being aired in countries in the Caribbean, and is in its final stages of being translated to French so that it can begin airing on Trace TV out of France. The deal with Trace TV will see IN THE DANCE being shown to more that 22-million households around the world. IN THE DANCE also became the most popular show in its timeslot in Jamaica.

Artistes such as Courtney John, Cherine Anderson, G-Whizz, Mr Lexx, Timberlee, Denyque, Zamunda, Timberlee, Ishawna, Raine Seville, Macka Diamond and M’Lonie are featured on the album.

IN THE DANCE music has reaped success both in the region and in the international entertainment stratosphere. Odessa Chambers, the show’s associate and talent producer shared that singles produced from the show have been no stranger to radio airplay and even television screens.

“No doubt that people have really taken to tracks we’ve produced – all the artistes who we recorded are talented and have a unique flavor. In the Caribbean, we’re enjoying lots of airplay on radios and even in parties and clubs,” she said.

Gayle continued, saying that 21Entertainment is particularly proud of the track Floor It by M’Lonie’s and it being featured on MTV’s Jersey Shore.

“I think our biggest success to date with our music would have to M’Lonie’s song being synced to MTV. That was truly exciting for us, and so early in the project. There are more big things to come too, as Raine Seville has shot a video for her single Tra La La and more. Season 2 of the television show might be over, but our movement continues.
