(Kingston, Jamaica) When the curtains came down on the 7th staging of the Excellence In Music & Entertainment EME Awards last Saturday night reggae / r&b male group Kahlil was among a handful of entertainers who left a lasting impression on everyone in attendance with what was regarded by many as a show stopping performance.

The group who’s set included 2 songs and a dramatic skit got off to a great start singing a cover of Travis McMcoy’s single Billionaire before going into their breakout single “Gonna Be Sorry” which was made interesting with a surprise appearance from Jamaican born international actor Paul Campbell who along with actress Tikia Buchanan and model Kyema Houston brought the same dramatic presentation from the official music video to the stage.

With industry players and corporate sponsors in attendance at the award show group member Delly insists Kahlil came prepared to rock the house. “It was our first time at the EME’s so we were looking to bringing our best to the stage and based on the crowd response and feedback we’ve been receiving we know we achieved our goal”. It was really an experience sharing the stage with the likes of Eve, Lady Saw, Trina and Etana, and we feel blessed to have played our role at the ceremony”.

Kahlil’s performance on stage was also the first time the group stepped out endorsing the Cooyah brand with whom a recent sponsorship deal was brokered, “We are now aligned to the local apparel designers Cooyah so the fans can definitely look out for us wearing more of their gears in the near future”.

Managed by Garnett Newman, Kahlil is fast becoming the talk of the town, their single “Gonna Be Sorry” is now in its 4th week at #1 on Virgin based Honey Dip Hot Bubblers Chart and the video is holding firm at #5 on the Cari Vibez Top Ten Video Chart.
