Kanye Speaks On Mother's Passing, Feelings Of Isolation

Hip-Hop superstar Kanye West has come forward to speak about the impact of his mother’s death and her influence on his music.

Dr. Donda West passed away in November of last year due to cosmetic surgery complications. During the months that followed the platinum-selling rapper “wasn’t ready to speak about [it].” Yet during a recent istening party in London for his fourth studio album 808s and Heartbreak, Ye revealed the importance of his mom, how much she shaped his music career and the impact she continues to have on his life.

“She influenced me to do exactly what I want to do,” Ye said. ” With my mom’s passing, I learned that — you can’t let people box you in.”

Admitting the energy he put into recording music for his new album has helped him see past the hard times and deal with his loss, West commented on the loneliness he has encountered over the past year.

“I’d rather talk it through than commit suicide,” he explained. “I’m super devastated.”

Kanye also commented on how being a celebrity only adds to his feelings of isolation.

“I’m an alien,” he said. “The only place I can be alone is my hotel room — I can’t even go to the grocery store.

Yet througout all the hardships Ye doesnt want his fans to feel bad for him.

“Don’t feel sorry for me – I just did a shoot for Louis Vuitton,” he added. “Don’t worry about me, I’ll be okay in the end.”
