“After every show, fans who want more can tune in to the entertainment channel Peppa, for a 20-minute after show featuring all the “too hot for TV” moments – a first in Jamaica,” highlighted Tara Playfair-Scott, LIME Head of Television & Entertainment.

“Content is king in the world of television and we believe that ‘Teacha’s Pet’ is a good example of entertaining and most importantly, 100% Jamaican programming and the way we are partnering with Teacha’s Pet will bring a new dimension to TV in Jamaica and our mobile TV network.” she added.

Produced by Carleene Samuels and directed by Jason ‘Jay Will’ Williams of Creative Source Productions, the programme features a cast of 20 female contestants who live together and complete daily challenges as they try to win the love of Vybz Kartel.

According to Samuels, Teacha’s Pet is unlike any other programme produced locally. “Generally persons tend to be skeptical about Jamaican reality series, however we are positive that this top quality production will attract high viewership particularly among the artistes’ huge fan base across the globe.”

Commenting on the show, Palmer said: “This is another milestone and pillar of success in my career.” “I have always had an interest in pursuing film based projects along with my music. I am very pleased with the production and I look forward to the response of my fans and the viewers who will tune in every Friday night”.

He further pointed out that, to date, the response from his fans has been very positive and resulted in contestants from as far as the Middle East being selected to be a part of the show.

In June, producers of the show issued a casting call online for Kartel’s ‘love hopefuls’ that resulted in over 1000 applications from young women locally and internationally being submitted. The finalists who will appear on the show were selected by the artiste and producers of the show.

Other local celebrities including Amelia ‘Milk’ Sewell as the substitute teacher and recording artiste ‘Popcaan’ as the confidant are also featured in the weekly hour long programme.

Members of the Diaspora and Vybz Kartel fans globally will be able to access the programme online via a pay-per-view service on www.teachaspet.com -the show’s official website. Locally, on September 23 & 24, LIME will offer specially discounted prices on mobile television enabled handsets for viewers to access Peppa.

Fans of the show will be able share feedback, gossip and comments on the show’s Facebook and Twitter accounts as well on the show’s website.
