The first dancehall artsite to ever be booked for the event, Macka Diamond performed to over 2000 people packed inside the CPAC in Brooklyn and had them moving to tunes like Bun Him, Dun Already, Hula Hoop and her current high-riding charting collaboration with song writer Unicorn, Think Bout Mi.

“The show was mad, mad, mad,” said an excited Macka Diamond. Speaking from New York, she said “being the first dancehall artiste to ever perform at this event felt really good and it was a blessing. I represented well for dancehall, the crowd danced and jumped and sang along. It was just a good show”.

Macka Diamond also performed the remix she did with the sizzling soca siren Patrice Roberts for the track Wukkin Up which she said “mek the crowd get wild”. She also mentioned that after her performance at Soca Wet Fete, the promoters for Miami Carnival approached her, in hopes that she would be able to appear on the popular event.
“I really hope I get to perform at Miami Carnival, because it’s just one of those events that really bring Caribbean people together,” Macka commented.

The ‘money goddess’ is still in New York, completing a string of radio and television promotional appearances, as well as appearances in popular nightclubs in the city.

“We doing a full-on radio blast in the tri-state right now, along with the promotions for the movie, so it’s a really busy time for me right now,” Macka said, before adding that the work she’s doing is “hard but fun”.
