Meet Chronixx

Born into music, Jamar McNaughton, was destined to be an artist. Receiving the name Chronixx, after his father, musician Chronicle, the young artist spent many hours in studio sessions alongside the likes of Burru Banton, Norrisman, and Gregory Isaacs. At the mere age of 5, Chronixx penned his 1st song “Rice Grain” and by 11, he was in the studio recording. 2003, found the young artist recording with Danny Brown (who previously worked with Red Rat, Goofy, and General Degree), a church choir director, as well as back up singing for gospel artistes, mainly Jermaine Edwards.

Realizing his gifts, Chronixx decided to pursue music seriously after the passing of his little brother in 2007. Perfecting what he had been learning throughout his life, Chronixx began to sharpen his writing and producing skills. During this time, he had opportunity to work with Lutan Fyah. Shortly after he met Romaine “Teflon” Arnett of ZincFence Recordz and powerful entity emerged.

In Spring 2011, Chronixx with solid support, well crafted arrangements, and powerful lyrics, the artist has finally stepped out. With a album in production, single “Behind Curtain” reaching ears in Jamaica to Kenya, Chronixx is on a nonstop mission, to be young, gifted, and heard.

Chronixx is currently promoting his single “Behind Curtain”. The lyrics portray a timeless story about family and friend betrayal, set to a creatively head nodding riddim. The song can be heard in early morning rotation on ZIP FM with ZJ Sparks, receiving forwards with DJ G Money on HomeBoyz Radio in Kenya, and charting on HDPCharts.com Bubblers countdown.

Working an album for late fall and a video release this summer, Chronixx is ready to show his diverse musical talents with another single, “Dub Chronixx”. Yes “Dub” as in “Dub Music”, now ask yourself, when last you heard an 18yr old recording Dub Music?

With solid support from his partner, producer Teflon, Chronixx along with Zinc Fence Records, will be this year’s quiet surprise.
