Missy Elliott Lets Fans Name Her New Album

Missy Elliott will be giving fans a chance to name her 7th solo album, set to hit shelves this spring.

In a contest posted on her website, missy-elliott.com, fans can offer their suggestions to the five time grammy award winner. The contest, which has already launched on the site, will end on February 20, with the winner being announced on March 2. Along with being credited, the winner will also win a $500 Adidas gift card.

In related Missy news, the rapper premiered her new video for “Ching-A-Ling,” on BET and MTV yesterday (Feb. 4). The song, which is part of the Step Up 2 The Streets soundtrack, is the first in music video history to ever receive the 3D treatment.

Elliott reunited with Dave Meyers, who she’s worked with on such videos as “Work It,” “Get Your Freak On,” “One Minute Man” and “Lose Control,” among others, to create the innovative clip. Fans can get the complimentary 3D glasses needed to watch the video at participating FYE and Adidas stores nationwide.

As SOHH previously reported, Missy plans on reuniting with longtime associate Timbaland for her new album. Timbo, who is responsible for producing Missy’s first 5 albums (Supa Dupa Fly, Da Real World, Miss E…So Addictive, Under Construction, This Is Not A Test), did not play a major role her last CD, 2005’s The Cookbook.

Missy’s new disc is scheduled to drop this spring via Goldmind/Atlantic Records.
