Singjay Mr Vegas plans to spread some cheer with an upcoming donation to Martha’s House on North Street.

A Mustard Seed Communities home, Martha’s House was badly destroyed by fire on March 16, last year. When The STAR spoke to Vegas, he explained, “I plan to donate the fees that the organiser of a gospel show will be giving me for my performance.” The show is called ‘I Am Blessed’ and takes place in the Bronx, New York, this weekend.

Mr Vegas visited the home for a children’s treat a few years ago with The STAR team. He said, “Ever since I went down there with THE STAR and saw how much stuff they needed, and the poor condition the place was in, it’s been in the back of my mind to donate there and to help other charities.” Upon the artiste’s return next week, he plans to visit the home to make the donation.

Mr Vegas is also working on his jamagainstrape website, which is geared towards assisting men in approaching the taboo subject of male rape. According to the singjay, it has been difficult working on the website and getting people to talk about the topic.

honoured

For Mr Vegas, it has been a hectic couple of weeks, having recently been on tour for the ICC Twenty/20 Tournament, as well as performing other shows in Honduras. While in Honduras, Vegas was honoured by the government for his contribution to music.

Vegas has also been busy in the studio being featured on upcoming rhythms such as the ‘Money Tree’ and has some dancing singles coming out such as Move Dem Up with Natel, Look Who’s Dancing and Tempa Wine.
