Neecy

Jahkno.com is very proud to introduce our very first featured model – Neecy (Our First Lady) 🙂

Sharlette and Daniel Watson welcomed on the 9th of February 1988, their beautiful daughter Shan-eque Shanice Watson. She was the third child for both parents and also the first little princess to be welcomed into the small family. A very intelligent toddler, she began school at the age of 3. Now more popularly known as Neecy, and fondly called Shanice by family and close friends. Neecy was born and grew up in Kingston Jamaica and has since lived across the island. From a young age, Neecy’s interest in being photographed was noticed by her mother. As a child she was very athletic, branching out in dancing and track and field.

Taking a keen interest in her daughter’s posing skills, Sharlette enrolled her into the Lisa Hanna Workshop; which at the time was an etiquette and grooming course for young girls. She was then trained and coached by the La Face Models team, where her interest grew even further. Neecy entered the Pulse Petite Caribbean Model Search of 2005, but had to drop out of the competition; due to the strict rules of her past school Wolmer’s Girls School.

She was then advised to concentrate on her studies and forget about modeling for awhile. Graduating from Wolmer’s, Neecy moved to Ocho Rios where she worked at Sandals Dunn’s River as an Entertainment Coordinator. This gave her immense training for future endeavors; public speaking, social and conversationalist abilities, microphone training and abundant confidence. This gave Neecy an opportunity to do what she loved most, modeling.

After almost two years she moved back Kingston to pursue more opportunities her past job could not allow her the time to do. Neecy approached up-coming photographer Jovian Blair for a photo shoot in hopes of gaining both exposure for herself and her now dear friend. She has since posed for the lens of Dean Clarke, Ryan Lue-Clarke, Jamie Barnett and Marlon Chin; among many future shoots that are in the works. She entered the Ms. Global Jamaica Pageant of 2010, where she was handpicked by Pageant Director Mr. Lachu Ramchandani to compete. Neecy went on to place in the top 10 of 26 finalists.

Today Neecy’s career ventures are growing with multiple features and recognition from entertainment and fashion fraternities; coupled with many major projects in the works. She recently did a photo shoot for Karamba Swimwear and has been featured on swaggazone.com as well as been invited to join the elite Jamaican Honeys Model group on facebook (jamaicanhoneys.weebly.com) Shanice has also been featured in the music videos “Party Time” by Ding Dong and Patexx and “They Say” by Wasp to be released soon. Her feature in the Canadian Fashion, style and beauty magazine Elle Established debuts in August.

The key to any success story is struggle and passion. Neecy appreciates her struggles and her passion for fashion has never changed. Neecy is a down to earth young lady who works and toils at her hardest to rise to the top. In her own words “Limits are for people who have never tasted success”. Another beautiful rising star from a beautiful island, watch out for her. She is a destined success story.
