(Kingston, Jamaica) New York based dancehall recording artist Chippi Flemo armed with a brand new single dubbed “Rush Off A Yuh” is gearing up for his very first promotional trip to Jamaica since the start of the new year.
Chippi who will be looking to break the song on the local scene is slated to touch down in April during the busy Easter season and will also use the opportunity to work with a few well known producers. “This trip is centered around getting my music out in Jamaica, that’s where I’m from so I want to have a buzz there. Outside of that I will be doing some recordings for Cash Flow Records and PayDay Music who both have some hot riddims playing in the dancehall right now”. “Rush Off A Yuh” which was produced by Last Exodus and is featured on the Murder Riddim has been getting positive feedback on the social network facebook.
A native of the island, Chippi who was born and raised in the Grants Pen community of Kingston migrated in the year 2000 and has since been actively pursing a career in music. “Well i was born in a family of music, my father was a deejay called Moon back in the days of Stereo One, he also had a sound so from I was 7 y.o I was traveling on the road with him learning. Me and Mavado were classmates at Constant Spring All Age School and we use to always look up to Bounty Killer as our deejay but I neva really start to do professional recordings until I reach the U.S, my first song was a tune called “Money Inna Pocket”, I did that in a studio over in Queens New York”.
All things being equal Chippi Flemo is focused and will be the first to admit there is still room for growth but is adamant the journey has only just begun. “I’m in this for the long run, so I want to continue to grow and learn how to be a better artist, I want to move alongside professional people who can assist me with development and bring me to that next level”.
