Kingston, Jamaica: After trodding successfully through 2010, popular dub-poetry quartet No-Maddz is gearing up to give back to charity for 2011.
Having released their highly acclaimed live album ‘The Trod’ last March – No-Maddz, which consists of members Sheldon Shepherd, Everaldo Creary, Chris Gordon and O’neil Peart, is looking to the betterment of others with their latest project ‘The Trod Anniversary Special’. Scheduled for 6 pm on March 13 at the Courtleigh Auditorium in New Kingston ‘The Trod Anniversary Special’ marks the quartet’s first official show for the new year. The Trod Anniversary Concert will be in aid of two charities: EVE for Life, as well as the Edna Manley College of the Visual and Performing Arts.
Eve for Life is a non-government organization geared at educating, caring and fostering young girls who are pregnant and living with HIV. The Nomaddic Movement was introduced to the organization by Sheldon Shepherd who acts as the NGO’s patron and made a collective decision to be the organization’s official sponsor. The Edna Manley College of the Arts was chosen because the noted institution produces the future of artistry in Jamaica which is one of the island’s greatest exports. No-Maddz has teamed up with the school to assist the Art department in providing the necessary tools to enhace productivity.
Despite getting offers to peform at shows since then, the No-Maddz’s last performance was at the Bob Marley Museum on Hope Road in Kingston on Boxing Day, December 26th. They have been teasing this upcoming event via their social networks with the coined phrase “Tell No One You Have Seen Me.” The band promises that their performance will not only include a stellar performance of known tracks, but also the introduction of new material that they are excited to share. One of the organizers for the event commented, “This concert event marks and commemorates the first anniversary of ‘The Trod’, the group’s live album recording. The band will perform a 130 minutes set to well wishers, fans, supporters and special guests. They will also be performing six new songs and will formally present tokens to key supporters of the Nomaddic Movement as a means of appreciation for all the work they have done.” Some entities receiving the ‘Key Supporter Award’ from No-Maddz are Supreme Ventures, Puma, Courts, and Grizzlys. The band has signed a deal to be the official mascots for Puma’s new “Rocker, Flex and Groove” campaign with Usain Bolt.
While the concert is mainly a charity and media event, No-Maddz fans can stay tuned to the media and social networking sites such as Facebook for chances to win tickets to the concert. The first 100 fans to register to join the band’s mailing list on their website http://www.nomaddzja.com/ will win tickets to the show.

HOW: This special edition show has limited seats, thus tickets will not be on sale to the public. Sponsors, VIP’s and honoured guests are specially invited and they are able to support our charities through making a charitable contribution of $3000.00 per person. Please contact the organizers to register in advance.

Terms of competition: Only registrations of valid email addresses on the website will be accepted, those who are successful at winning tickets will be notified by email and given collection instructions for our ticket distribution desk on Friday, March 11 in New Kingston. Winning tickets will be expected to be collected from our team on the distribution day – tickets not collected on Friday will forfeit their seat therefore the ticket will be given away.
(It is not possible for tickets to be distributed on the evening of the show as it is a red carpet event)
Organizers are not responsible for transportation or accommodation for those attending the event. Only access to the event will be granted, the tickets are non-transferable and are not redeemable for money.

This concert commemorates the 1st anniversary of The Trod, the live album recording. The band will perform a 130 minute long set to (400) four hundred comfortably seated well wishers, fans, supporters and special guests. No-Maddz will also perform live, more than six (6) new songs.
The Nomaddic Movement will formally make presentations to five (5) key supporters including Supreme Ventures, Courts Jamaica Limited, Grizzly’s and Puma; and two (2) charities EVE for Life and Edna Manley who are set to benefit from the event’s proceeds.
