Dancehall artiste Razor B is not detected by the flack he has been receiving for the scenes in his new video for his Tongue single released late last year.
The flack surrounds the content of the official video which was teased last week on social media and officially released on Monday on his Razor B Vevo channel.
The Tongue video, shot in Moods Nightclub Montego Bay, shows provocative scenes that many are saying are too racy for dancehall. It also has a special feature from the infamous Bad Boy Trevor. While some consider it too explicit, Razor B affirms that this is nothing new in music and some people are simply overreacting.
Music imitates real life and that’s what I’m mirroring here, the streets in dancehall are provocative and highly sexual, that is the nature of our music and culture. We are sexy in words and movement and as an artiste, I will feed into that and give my fans what they want, I honestly don’t think I went too far

The artiste also believes it’s necessary to push the envelope when releasing new content as this starts new conversations and interest globally.
“Music changes with society at large and the music needs to reflect that, I like to push the boundaries so if it creates shock and awe then it means people are paying attention. I want every girl to be proud and bold in owning their sexuality,” Razor added
The Tongue single is produced by Trill City Global and StreetCred Jamaica and is released on the London Glow Riddim. Visuals for Tongue were directed by Rayebann Entertainment and can be found on Razor Bs Vevo Channel. Razor B will also be hosting a TikTok tongue challenge for $500 US this month as well as a Tongue Talk podcast in a matter of days.
