(Kingston, Jamaica) Canadian R&B / Soul superstar Divine Brown will set her sights on the city of Kingston this week for a one night only live performance at entertainment moguls Alric & Boyd’s flagship event “The Mix” this Thursday Jan 20th at Mingles located at the Courtleigh Hotel.
Brown who arrived in the island on Tuesday will headline the music fusion inspired event that currently takes place in other Caribbean territories such as Barbados and Trinidad. The Mix is also present in the New York Tri-State area where Federation Sound member Max Glazer is entrusted with the core task of breaking new artists into that market. The event is said to be an attraction for sophisticated music lovers between the ages of 25-40 and was a major hit last year with patrons after appearances from artists such as G Whizz, Downstairs, Natalie Storm, Timberlee, Leftside, Exile Di Brave and Tifa.
Sharing the stage with Divine Brown this Thursday will be reggae singer Jermaine Blake while Turn Table Twins Alric & Boyd along with DJ 47 will pump up the musical energy to ensure patrons have a memorable evening. Admission to the event is $500. and showtime sits at 8pm
Divine Brown rose from the underground music scene in 2005 with the smash radio hit “Old Skool Love” captured mainstream attention around the world and soon after she released her self titled debut album later that year. Her sophomore album “The Love Chronicles” came 3 years later and in 2009 won the Juno Award for R&B / Soul Album Of The Year. Her biggest single on the album was “Sunglasses” which made it to #14 on the U.S Billboard Charts.
